Youth Performance Series

Thanks to a generous grant from the Phyllis C. Wattis Foundation, BATS Improv offers FREE performances for San Francisco middle schools and high schools (grades 6-12)!

The productions will feature our Main Stage Company professional actors, improvising stories created from your students' ideas on the spot. The performances offer a high-energy, unique experiential introduction to improvisational theater, one we think worth sharing with your student body.

Performances are held at the Bayfront Theater at Fort Mason Center at 10am and run approximately 90 minutes. Performances will also include a facilitated Q&A session with the actors. We offer up to 200 tickets for each show. If you would like more information or would like to reserve seats for your student group, please contact the Dean of the BATS Improv School at any time, using the information to the right.

BATS Improv: A "Gateway" Theater Experience for Younger Patrons
An integral part of BATS Improv’s mission is to provide a positive introduction to the performing arts and teach applicable life skills (listening, collaborating, etc.) that serve students both on- and off-stage. This specialty improvisational theatre program has special resonance with adolescents—it improves verbal expression, enhances listening skills, builds body awareness, increases interpersonal intelligence, and boosts self-confidence. Here are some of the comments we’ve received from student participants:

“I liked doing the acting. I learned new things and now I’m not embarrassed to act in front of people.”
“Thank you for working with us and teaching us not to be afraid in a big group and speak our mind.”
“Thanks 4 the experience. It showed me to have more confidence in front of an audience. We luv improv!”
