Adult Summer Sessions
Every summer, BATS offers a series of intensive workshops unlike anything we offer during the regular school year. It's a chance for in-depth study over a period of four consecutive days per session. Since the inception of our summer intensives in 1995, BATS Improv has drawn students from all over the world to its theater during summertime.
One of the highlights of the session is the presence of legendary improv coach (and Theatresports® creator) Keith Johnstone, who joins us as a guest coach each August.
The Thursday through Sunday schedule for our August intensives makes it easy (and more affordable!) to take time away to study with us. And we're offering special multiple registration discounts for students who want to take more than one workshop. As always, we strongly encourage you to register early as the summer session tends to sell out every year.
What you get...
- Orientation and social the day before your session begins
- At least 28 hours of improv training with some of the best coaches in the world
- Two tickets to any show during the BATS Summer Improv Festival
- Healthy snacks, bottled water, coffee, and tea
- One of San Francisco's best views of the Golden Gate Bridge (it's right outside the theater!)
- Summer Session T-Shirt
- Discounts for early and multiple class registrations
- A whole lot of new friends!
We offer wait lists for sold out classes in the event of a student cancellation, so email us to be added!
