Vaccination

BATS Improv is a fully vaccinated organization. All of our staff, coaches, performers and crew participating in in-person activities have received a complete primary series of COVID vaccination, and we encourage our audiences and students to do the same. As per the CDC, Primary series completion is defined as receipt of 2 vaccine doses for persons who received Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, or unspecified U.S.-authorized or approved mRNA COVID-19 vaccine, or receipt of 1 dose for persons who received Janssen.

Masks

Masks are highly encouraged for students, audiences and staff at all in-person classes and shows. The only exception will be for improvisers who are not expected to mask when performing on stage. We strongly encourage you to wear a KN95 or an N95 mask, or if these are not available to you, to layer a cloth mask on top of a surgical mask to ensure a better fit to the face.

Self-Reporting

We rely on our community members to self-report symptoms and COVID exposures.

If you feel ill, please do not come to class or shows.

If you test positive for COVID-19 and it is possible that you participated in a BATS Improv class while potentially contagious, notify our office immediately via phone at: 415-474-6776 or email at: bats@improv.org

We will make any necessary reports to public health authorities.

Risk mitigation measures:

We will not produce printed programs or tickets

Where possible windows and doors will be kept open to increase outside air flow and we have free-standing HEPA air-filters to reduce potential for airborne transmission

Class numbers are managed to enable physical distancing

Surgical masks and hand sanitizer will be available in the theatre

We are encouraging everyone to wash their hands before and after any in person activities at BATS

We will update our COVID-19 policies as needed to keep our community safe and to comply with public health guidelines.
